CWGPM-2022: 4-day computational Workshop on Genomics, Proteomics, and Metagenomics
The computational workshop on genomics, proteomics and metagenomics was successfully organized and executed at IGIB after a long time due to COVID-19 and was conducted in an offline mode with a timeline of 4-days. The workshop was organized and co-organized by Dr. Debasis Dash and Dr. Kumardeep Chaudhary’s lab teams. A total of 30 participants from all over the country were selected for the workshop based on their SOP’s. The workshop included talk sessions during the first half of the day, from eminent speakers who are actively involved in the research domain like that mentioned in the workshop’s title, this was followed by a hands-on tutorial session by a group of tutors, for the entirety of the workshop. The tutors were PhD students, interns, and project assistants combined, the first day highlighted talks and hands-on training on Genomics, followed by 2nd day which highlighted Single-cell genomics, then on the next day proteomics was highlighted, followed by the 3rd day, where participants were exposed to proteomics as the key topic, the workshop was concluded on the 4th day where talk sessions on metagenomics were delivered. The participants were also given a chance to visit distinct scientific facilities at IGIB to give curb their curiosity. At last this workshop instilled in all, who participated whether as a student, speaker, resource person, tutor, or an organizer a feeling of excitement, content and joy since, science actively seeks transmission of knowledge.
Lab@Home at Patehara

The outreach team with PhD scholars visited Hanuman Singh Patel Inter College, Patehara, Mirzapur, UP to meet and interact with 500 school students of classes IX – XII. The kids got acquainted with genes and genetics as they isolated their own DNA (with Lab@Home kits).
