It’s dark out there
just like in here
An eerie silence, well, not really
there are sirens buzzing, car horns bellowing,
like the loud beeps of old-raggedy deep freezers
ghostly shadows, sometimes real
sometimes not so much
broken instruments, broken spirits
dusty boxes, dusty ideas
stinking beakers full of who knows what,
wide open like dumpsters ready to catch fire
this is my Gotham
though without a Batman
that may as well be fine
for here,
we need at least nine…
