Life the teacher everyday takes attendance
Recognises the genuine, shuns all our pretense
With a will to learn we show up to
Sit in class each day
Managing mood seasons, controlling our ego
To mould our minds like clay
We bring good intentions
And pure motivations
To read our inner call
Follow divine guidance and hope one day
To understand it all
Best keep an open mind and let all negative go
Float on the river like a fallen leaf,
Go with the flow and grow
We all must be a student, however
Whether we like it or not
So it’s best to align our interests with life
And give it all we have got
In reward we get lovely highs
And such times when we seem to touch the sky
But exams we shall embrace and keep a strong face
Accept and not ask why
Some look left and some look right
And some look straight ahead
‘Coz we’re ALL students and life is the only teacher
